Never Gonna Give You Up….

We are all familiar with the words of Rick Astley’s song, but what’s that got to do with EmpowerMHT you may well ask. Well, everything!

I have been thinking a lot about my USP (Unique Selling Point) and it has to be my inner Rick Astley! I try my very hardest to never give up, never to let you down or to hurt you: As cheesy as Rick maybe, but just as sincere.  He is still going strong by following his own words and so am I. We are all a reflection of our business and our business reflects US.

EmpowerMHT started because of my belief and passion in all thing’s mental health related and the devasting effect poor mental health and the menopause can have on individuals and their nearest and dearest.  I wanted to truly get out there and use my skills, knowledge and wisdom to bring about better and more informed awareness of the issues around mental health and menopause, especially to business owners and to educate people that it IS okay not to be “ok” at times in your life.

I won’t lie, times have not always been easy; like everyone I’ve had my fair share of setbacks, curve balls, emotional crisis and serious self-doubt, but overriding all of those things, was my unwavering belief that I was doing something good that would benefit so many people.

Empowering people is about giving them the tools and techniques to take back control and take massive strides forwards in their lives.  It’s helping them overcome barriers and banish setbacks and strive towards a better future self; that’s not only a good thing for them, it’s good for those around them - work colleagues, employees or employers, family and friends, and for society as a whole.

I’m not that well-known brand of soft fizzy drink that has its “secret recipe” that’s “the real thing. . .”.: I am not a department store who produces a heart-melting advert every Christmas, nor am I an elite athlete with a record-breaking number of gold medals to my name.

I am a unique woman with a vision and a mission in life: I bring to both mental health and menopause training my own personal story, my professional experience, my witnessing and empathy of other people whom I have been alongside.  These are the tools I bring to my training, that I share, and that I encourage others to do the same.

“Never Gonna Give You Up. . .” Hearing someone say those words to you when you are struggling with your mental or physical health is music to your ears. I am thinking of adopting it as an anthem for EmpowerMHT, partly because it’s so cheesy and it’s hard to forget.

All together now…. 🎶
